In 1988, with the expansion that had sales, in order to improve our efficiency in terms of transportation costs were set up plants outside from Toluca, and in 1989 opened the plant in Guadalajara, the pride of the company, with a capacity of 26 455 452 lb at year.
As the company continued growing it was necessary built new facilities and extent the plants from Toluca and Guadalajara and with this gave a better service to costumers.
In 1998 began the operations in Saltillo with a plant, which was owned by Molinos Del Fenix, a company that was acquired by the Group.
By 1999 we started the production of pulp fry (pellets) and in 2000 and it was bought and installed a factory to produce instant soup, in Toluca.
By 2001 it was operating Pasta Capri in Guatemala and in 2004 it was bought this plant. In 2002 started negotiation of plants from Pastas Cora, later were acquired its machinery and its facilities.
Currently, the company has 6 plants:
Toluca González Ortega, Toluca Leandro Valle, Guadalajara, Saltillo,
Gomez Palacio and Guatemala, one pellet plant of wheat flour and one
plant of instant soups. It has distribution centers in: Toluca,
Guadalajara, Ramos Arizpe, Gomez Palacio, Merida and Tijuana. In
addition, other products are marketed by the group such as wheat
flour, rice flour, hot-cakes and biscuits.
It employs 1,445 people in these establishments. Sales for 2005 amounted 356 936 625.49 lb of pasta, 11 195 896.58 pounds of pasta to fry; 4 355 848.28 lb of instant soup, the equivalent to 30,871,578 cups and 1 999 996.164 lb of package of soup.

important for us, La Moderna has carried out many activities that
concern to all community, we are very proud of having a company like
La Moderna, which is key to enterprise development of Grupo La
Moderna S.A. de C.V. Considered within the food sector in the
country as one of the largest companies.
The future for Productos Alimenticios La Moderna, as it is known
today, could not be more promising, besides its 9 plants that
currently are in operation here in Mexico and abroad, the future
plans are to expand the scope for growth of the company inside and
outside the country.
